Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be done through various methods such as the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their value.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be used in any type of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. item upgrader will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced by many different methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item and add an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They animate in order to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering the message by triggering an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by specific amount. This is shown on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the actual amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you are creating it for.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore it should not be considered a loss.
If you take an item off after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives players a new random affix, which is typically superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. When you press the "upgrade button" you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, therefore higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance for a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is a fantastic method to improve an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final level. This is evident on Rings and Diadems because they are the only options for raising ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it with money or food items, which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without spending too much time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning add a race change potion in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a more or unique roll could occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific item type, it has a chance of getting an upper level.
Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on its base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to get to the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
The iLevel will also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
